RFID Solutions in Logistics

RFID ensures clear goods movements in the warehouse, at the loading dock, and on the premises while reducing manual scans in core logistics processes.

SOLUTION

Inbound & Outbound Goods

RFID gates automate the capture of pallets, containers, and transport goods in inbound and outbound logistics. UHF RFID readers like the iDTRONIC RFline E4 enable bulk detection of transponders and can be used with integrated or external antennas depending on the application. This allows the reading range to be flexibly adapted to gate width, goods flow, and structural conditions.

This way, goods movements are autonomously recorded already during transit, preventing misdeliveries.

SOLUTION

Automated Gate and Barrier Opening

UHF RFID readers enable the automatic identification of trucks, transport vehicles, or forklifts at entrances, barriers, and hall gates. Long-range readers detect the transponder as soon as it approaches the defined reading area. If the vehicle or driver is authorized, the opening can be triggered automatically.

This creates fast, contactless access processes for outdoor areas, logistics yards, and internal routes.

SOLUTION

Object Detection on Forklifts

A UHF RFID reader integrated into the forklift, such as the iDTRONIC RFline U1, detects the area in front of the forks. As soon as a pallet, mesh box, or other load carrier is picked up, the reader automatically identifies the attached RFID transponder. Additionally, shelf locations or storage zones can be marked with RFID transponders to uniquely identify the respective storage location during put-away or retrieval.

This makes it traceable which load carrier was moved and at which storage location it was picked up or put down.
